Head Designer

Responsibilities:

In collaboration with Merchandising and Creative Team, the Head Designer will be responsible for exploring new trends and creating designs consistent with brand’s imaging to translate designs into producing original garments. He/she will develop a seasonal line of clothing collection featuring fabrics, color, and style direction indicated by market analysis to improve sales and profitability.

Position shall also be responsible but not limited to the following:

• Lead the development of product line, moving products from concept to production.
• Analyzes fashion trends and predictions, compares fabrics and other apparel materials, and integrates findings and knowledge of design to create new designs for clothing and other accessories.
• Conceptualizes theme every season for effective presentation consistent with brand’s imaging and assist with research and selection of fabrics, components and trims for seasonal introductions of new colors and designs.
• Heads the team in researching new and upcoming trends which includes but not limited to color forecast, style and print applications.
• Sketches rough and detailed drawings of apparel and writes specifications describing factors such as color scheme, construction and type of material to be used.
• Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software to store fashion styles and colors that can be accessed and easily changed depending on fashion requirements.
• Evaluates and selects proper materials and other types for illustrations and printing techniques to be used in total production.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Designing, Fine Arts, Clothing Technology or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum of 5-years experience in apparel designing and conceptualization
• Male / Female; 35 years old and above
• Must be knowledgeable in the areas of textiles, fabrics, and ornamentation and about trends in the fashion world
• Has good fashion sense, skilled in graphic designing and background in apparel silk printing
• Very good verbal, written and visual presentation skills
• Detail-oriented with ability to oversee projects from origin through execution
• Has excellent project management skills
• Ability to collaborate with all levels in the organization and adapt to various changing situations.
